Resilience

Resilience is the ability to persist, adapt or transform in the face of change in a way that upholds our basic identity. It is the process of adapting well in the face of hardships, trauma, failure, threats or significant stress, and achieving a sense of equilibrium. Resilience also refers to positive adaptation and the ability to regain mental health, after having experienced adversity.

Resilience is believed to improve learning and academic achievement. It contributes to reduced risk-taking behaviors including excessive drinking, smoking, and use of drugs. Resilient people are able to better manage difficult emotions and experience more positive emotions, which leads to good health outcomes.

Resilience In Action

The person will be able to:

  • Adapt to change.
  • Manage strong feelings and impulses.
  • Make realistic plans and take steps to carry them out.
  • Make a realistic appraisal of situations enabling acceptance of what cannot be changed.
  • Have a positive view of themselves and have confidence in their strengths and abilities.

  • Approach adversity as a solvable challenge.

लवचिकता

चिकाटी ठेवण्याची, आपले मूलभूत अस्तित्व कायम राहील अशा पद्धतीने बदलांच्या टप्प्यात त्यांच्याशी जुळवून घेत ते स्वीकारण्याची किंवा परिवर्तन घडवण्याची क्षमता म्हणजे लवचिकता होय. त्रास, आघात, अपयश, अडथळे किंवा ताणतणावाचे महत्त्वाचे स्रोत यांना सामोरे जाण्याच्या काळात बदलांशी जुळवून घेण्याची आणि चांगल्या पद्धतीने तडजोड करण्याची ही प्रक्रिया आहे. लवचिकता या क्षमतेचा संदर्भ, प्रतिकूल परिस्थितीत सकारात्मकतेने जुळवून घेणे किंवा मानसिक आरोग्य राखणे / सांभाळणे यासाठी देखील दिला जातो.

लवचिकता ही क्षमता अध्ययनात आणि शैक्षणिक संपादणुकीत सुधारणा घडवून आणते असे मानले जाते. अति प्रमाणात मद्यपान करणे, धूम्रपान आणि मादक पदार्थांचे सेवन करणे यासारख्या गोष्टींचा समावेश असलेल्या जोखीम घेणाऱ्या वर्तणूकीचे प्रमाण कमी करण्यात याचे योगदान असते. उत्तम समायोजन करणाया व्यक्ती कठीण प्रसंग आणि अनुभव यांचे चांगल्या तऱ्हेने व्यवस्थापन करायला सक्षम असतात तसेच ज्याचा उपयोग चांगल्या स्वास्थ्यासाठी होतो अशा सकारात्मक भावना अधिक अनुभवतात.

लवचिकता या कौशल्याची व्यवहारातील अभिव्यक्ती

हे कौशल्य आत्मसात केलेली व्यक्ती पुढील गोष्टी करण्यासाठी सक्षम झालेली दिसते.

जीवन में लचीलापन

अपनी मूलभूत पहचान को बनाये रखते हुए बदलाव को स्वीकारना एवं उसके साथ समायोजित तथा रूपांतरित होने की योग्यता ही जीवन में लचीलापन कौशल है कष्ट, मानसिक आघात, असफलता, धमकी, तनाव की स्थितियों में अपने आप का अच्छे से समायोजित करना ही जीवन में लचीलापन कौशल है जीवन में लचीलापन मुसीबतों या आपदाओं के बावजूद भी स्वयं को सकारात्मक अनुकूलन और मानसिक स्वास्थ को बनाये रखने में मदद करता है

यह कौशल शैक्षिक तथा सीखने की उपलब्धियों को सुधारता है मादक पदार्थ जैसे  धूम्रपान, मदिरापान , ड्रग्स का सेवन आदि को कम करने  मे अपना योगदान देता है इस कौशल वाले लोग अपनी मुश्किल भावनाओं से अच्छी तरह प्रबंधन करते है और सकारात्मक भावनाओं का अनुभव करते है जिसके कारण वे एक अच्छी सेहत का अनुभव करते है।

जीवन में लचीलापन इस कौशल के व्यवहार में

व्यक्ति यह करने में सक्षम हो सकेगा :
• बदलाव के अनुसार खुद को ढालना ।
• संवेगों को तथा भावनाओं का प्रबंधित करना।

• अनापेक्षित चुनौतियों का सामना करना।
• जीवन में आने वाली विभिन्न चुनौतियों का सामना करना।
