Communication is the ability to express ourselves and respond to people, both verbally and non-verbally, in ways that are appropriate to our culture and situation. This includes listening attentively and respectfully; expressing our opinions and desires, needs and fears in an assertive manner; as well as being able to ask for advice and help in times of need. It is a way of connecting with others by conveying our ideas, facts, thoughts, feelings, and values.

Effective Communication helps us better understand a person or situation and enables us to resolve differences, build trust and respect, and create environments where creative ideas, problem solving, affection, and caring can flourish.

  • ਉਹ ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਕਿ ਕਦੋਂ ਸੁਣਨਾ ਜਾਂ ਬੋਲਣਾ ਹੈ।

ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ, ಶಾಬ್ದಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಅಶಾಬ್ದಿಕವಾಗಿ ಕೂಡ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹಾಗೂ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯಿಸುವ ಕೌಶಲವೇ ಸಂವಹನ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಗಮನವಿಟ್ಟು ಆಲಿಸುವುದು; ನಮ್ಮ ಅನಿಸಿಕೆಗಳು, ಕಲ್ಪನೆಗಳು, ಆಸೆಗಳು, ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆಗಳು, ಭಾವನೆಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಭಯವನ್ನು ವಿಶ್ವಾಸದಿಂದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುವುದು; ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಅವಶ್ಯವಿದ್ದಾಗ ಸಲಹೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಹಾಯ ಕೇಳುವುದು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.

ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿ ಸಂವಹನವು ನಮಗೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಅಥವಾ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶವನ್ನು ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಥೈಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಮತ್ತು ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಹರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು, ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಗೌರವವನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಸೃಜನಶೀಲ ಕಲ್ಪನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸಲು, ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಪರಿಹರಿಸಲು, ಬಾಂಧವ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಳಜಿಯುಕ್ತ ಪರಿಸರವನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಲು ಸಹಾಯಕವಾಗಿದೆ.

ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯು ಈ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುವುದು:

  • ಜೊತೆಗಾರರು, ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು, ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರು, ಕುಟುಂಬದವರ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಧ್ಯ ಮಾತನಾಡದೇ ಸಕ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿ ಆಲಿಸುವುದು 
  • ಯಾವ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಲಿಸಬೇಕು ಅಥವಾ ಮಾತನಾಡಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುವುದನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವುದು 
  • ಶಾಬ್ದಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಅಶಾಬ್ದಿಕ ಸೂಚನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಅನಿಸಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುವುದು 
  • ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುವುದು 
  • ‘ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ’ ವೆಂದು ವಿಶ್ವಾಸದಿಂದ ಗೌರವಯುತವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವುದು 
  • ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲು ಇತರರ ಅನಿಸಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾವನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸುವುದು
