Leadership is the ability to motivate and organise a group of people towards achieving a common goal. It is the ability to gain the trust and respect of group members by behaving responsibly and in a fair manner, and putting others’ needs before our own. It includes the ability to understand strengths and vulnerabilities of group members, so as to align them with tasks that optimize their performance. Leadership is also the ability to cause changes in other people and social systems.

Leadership skills benefit every aspect of our lives by helping in the development of key personal qualities such as perseverance, being committed and responsible, resilience, self-confidence, etc. Leaders use interpersonal and problem-solving skills to influence and guide others towards change.

नेतृत्व ही एक अशी क्षमता आहे जी विविध व्यक्तींना प्रेरणा देऊन त्यांचा गट तयार करते व त्या गटाला एक सामाईक ध्येय प्राप्त करण्यासाठी त्यांना प्रेरीत करते. जबाबदारीने वागून आणि नि:पक्षपातीपणा राखून, तसेच स्वतःच्या गरजांपेक्षा इतरांच्या गरजांना प्राधान्य देऊन गटातील सदस्यांचा विश्वास आणि आदर प्राप्त करण्याच्या मानसिकतेचा समावेश या क्षमतेमध्ये होतो. गटातील सदस्यांच्या जमेच्या गोष्टी आणि त्यांना असुरक्षित करणाऱ्या गोष्टी यांचा मागोवा घेऊन त्यांना त्यानुयार योग्य ती कामे देणे आणि त्यातून कमाल कामगिरी साधणे, या कार्यपद्धतीचा समावेश या क्षमतेमध्ये होतो. इतर व्यक्ती आणि सामाजिक व्यवस्था यात इष्ट परिवर्तन घडवून आणण्याचा अंतर्भाव देखील नेतृत्व या क्षमतेमध्ये होतो.

नेतृत्व हे कौशल्य आपल्या जीवनाच्या प्रत्येक अंगासाठी फायदेशीर ठरणारे आहेहे कौशल्य चिकाटी ठेवणे, वचनबद्ध आणि जबाबदार राहणे, लवचिकता, आत्मविश्वास इत्यादी प्रमुख वैयक्तिक गुणांच्या विकासात मदत करते. नेते आंतरवैयक्तिक संपर्क/ संवाद आणि समस्या निराकरण या कौशल्यांचा उपयोग इतर व्यक्तीना परिवर्तनासाठी प्रेरित करण्यासाठी तसेच मार्गदर्शन करण्यासाठी करतात.

नेतृत्व या कौशल्याची व्यवहारातील अभिव्यक्ती

हे कौशल्य आत्मसात केलेली व्यक्ती पुढील काही गोष्टी करण्यासाठी सक्षम झालेली दिसते

  • ध्येय गाठण्याच्या दिशेने कार्य करताना गटाचे नेतृत्व करणे.
  • गटातील सदस्यांना कामे नेमून देणे.
  • गटातील सदस्यांकडून सुचवलेल्या गोष्टी आणि त्यांचे विविध प्रकारचे योगदान यांचा स्वीकार करणे.

सामान्य ध्येय की पूर्ति के लिए नेतृत्व करने का कौशल लोगों के समूह को संगठित कर प्रेरित करता है l यह निष्पक्ष एवं जिम्मेदारी पूर्वक व्यवहार कर लोगों का विश्वास एवं आदर अर्जित करने तथा दूसरों की आवश्यकताओं को अपनी आवश्यकताओं से आगे रखने की योग्यता है l इसके अंतर्गत लोगो की ताकत एवं कमजोरियों को समझ कर उन्हें कार्यों के साथ इस प्रकार संरेखित करना कि उनका प्रदर्शन अनुकूलतम हो, सम्मिलित हो l नेतृत्व लोगो एवं सामाजिक व्यवस्था मे परिवर्तन लाने वाली योग्यता भी है l नेतृत्व कौशल हमारे जीवन के प्रत्येक पहलू को मुख्य व्यक्तिगत गुणों जैसे ढृंढ़ता, प्रतिबल्दता, ज़िम्मेदारी एवं आत्मविश्वास इत्यादि के विकास में सहायता कर लाभ पँहुचाता है |

नेता दूसरो को परिवर्तन के प्रति प्रभावित करने एवं मार्गदर्शन हेतु आत्मवैयक्तिक तथा समस्या समाधान कौशलों का प्रयोग करते हैं l

नेतृत्व इस कौशल के व्यवहार में

व्यक्ति यह करने में सक्षम हो सकेगा :
• लक्ष्यपूर्ति के लिए समूह का नेतृत्व करना।
• समूह के सदस्यों को कार्य सोपना।
• समूह के सदस्यों से प्राप्त सुझाव तथा सूचना को स्वीकारना।
• दूसरों में विश्वास दिखाना तथा उनकी समूह में योगदान देने की योग्यता पर विश्वास दिखाना।
• सभी को समूह में महत्तवपूर्ण महसूस कराना।
• प्रभावशाली शब्द तथा कार्य कर दूसरों को प्रभा‌वित करना।
• अभिनव (नया) विचारधारा तथा प्रयत्नों के द्वारा जटील चुनौतियों पर काबू पाना।
• नये, अपरिचित विचारधाराओं, नजरियों अनुभवों को स्वीकारना।
• जटिल स्थितियों मे लचीलापन दिखाना।
