सहयोग ही एक अशी क्षमता आहे ज्यामुळे आपल्याला गटात स्वतंत्रपणे आणि सहकार्याने काम करता येते. ही दोन किंवा अधिक व्यक्तींनी एकमेकांसोबतीने केलेली ध्येय आणि निष्पत्ती साध्यतेसाठी संघटीतपणे आणि समन्वयाने केलेली कृती आहे. सांघिक गतिशीलता आणि आव्हाने यांचे व्यवस्थापन तसेच इतरांच्या शिकण्यात योगदान करण्याचा आणि त्यातून स्वतः शिकण्याच्या कौशल्यांचाही यात समावेश असतो.

सहयोगात्मकता, समूह को आपसी मेलजोल से काम करना सिखाती है। यह एक या एक से अधिक लोगों को जोड़ कर सामूहिक लक्ष्य या उद्देश्य पूर्ति के लिए तैयार करती है। इसमें समूहसक्रियता तथा चुनौतियों का सामना करना सम्मिलित है।साथ ही यह दूसरों से सीखने और दूसरों के सीखने में योगदान देती है।

यह अलग अलग समूह (जाति, वर्ग, धर्म, भाषा) के लोगों को परस्पर प्रभावशाली तरीके से काम करना सिखाने वाला मुख्य कौशल है।

सहयोगात्मकता इस कौशल के व्यवहार में

व्यक्ति यह करने में सक्षम हो सकेगा :
• दूसरों के साथ काम कर, नवीन विचारों का निर्माण करना।
• अन्य समूहों के साथ प्रभावशाली संवाद करना।
• सहायता देना तथा स्वीकार करना।
• समूह में कार्य करना, नेतृत्व करना, अनुसरण करना और समूह में कार्य सौंपना।
• समूह के लोगों के विचार और दृष्टिकोण समझना।
• प्रभावशाली ढंग से एक दूसरे के विचारों से सहमत अथवा असहमत होना।
• दूसरों को सुनना और सम्मान पूर्वक उनकी बातों पर चर्चा – परिचर्चा करना।
• समवयस्क लोगों को सहायता तथा सहयोग देना।
• समूह के लोगों की योग्यताओं और क्षमताओं की सराहना करना और स्वीकार करना।
• सार्वजनिक / सामान्य लक्ष्य पूर्ति के लिए समूह हित को प्राथमिकता देना।
• विभिन्न वर्ग (जाति / विचार / लिंग / धर्म / भाषा) के साथ काम करते हुए उनके विचारों / मतभेदों को सम्मान देना / स्वीकारना।
