Grit is the ability to pursue our long term goals with passion and perseverance. We are gritty towards a certain goal when we care about it so much that it gives meaning to everything we do in our life. Grit is a combination of doing something for the love of it and sticking to it for a long time despite the difficulties and obstacles that may come in our way.

तीव्र इच्छाशक्ती आणि चिकाटीसह दीर्घकालीन ध्येय संपादीत करण्याची क्षमता म्हणजे हिंमत होय. आपण एखाद्या विशिष्ट ध्येयाप्रती दृढनिश्चयी असतो जेव्हा ते ध्येय, आपण आयुष्यात जे काय करतोय त्या सगळ्या गोष्टींना अर्थ प्राप्त करून देत असतं. आपण त्या ध्येयपूर्तीबद्दल खूप जास्त प्रमाणात सजग असतो. एखाद्या गोष्टीच्या प्रेमाखातर काहीही करणे आणि त्यादरम्यान कितीही आव्हाने आणि अडथळे आले तरी दीर्घकालावधीसाठी त्या गोष्टीचा पाठपुरावा न सोडणे याचं मिश्रण म्हणजेच हिंमत होय.    

हिंमत हे एक महत्त्वाचं कौशल्य मानलं जातं, कारण त्याचा ध्येयपूर्तीशी सकारात्मक संबंध असतो. आपलं अत्युच्च प्रेम आणि चिकाटी हे हिंमत क्षमतेतील दोन महत्त्वाचे घटक आहेत, ज्यांचा आपल्या शारीरिक आणि मानसिक स्वास्थ्यावर, नातेसंबंधांवर आणि कोणत्याही क्षेत्रातील कामगिरीवर सकारात्मक परिणाम होतो.

खंबीरपणा या कौशल्याची व्यवहारातील अभिव्यक्ती

हे कौशल्य आत्मसात केलेली व्यक्ती पुढील गोष्टी करण्यासाठी सक्षम झालेली दिसते.

  • एखादी अभिरुची किंवा ध्येय याचा पाठपुरावा करणे आणि त्यातून भावनिक पातळीवरील आनंद आणि समाधान प्राप्त होणे
  • कोणत्यातरी एखाद्या गोष्टीत प्रावीण्य मिळवण्यासाठी वेळ लागत असला तरीदेखील त्यावर प्रभुत्व मिळविण्यासाठी चिकाटीने प्रयत्न करणे.

धीरज-धैर्य

धीरज-धैर्य हमे दीर्घकालीन लक्ष्य को धैर्य तथा ऊर्जा के साथ पाने के लिए गतिमान रखता है । कभी-कभी हम किसी लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने के लिए इतने सक्रिय हो जाते है की वह हमारे सम्पूर्ण जीवन को दिशा दे देता है । यह कौशल हमें कार्य के प्रति लगाव रख कर कैसे भी परिस्थितियों में दृढ़ निश्चय के साथ उस कार्य को संपन्न करना सीखता है।

यह एक ऐसा महत्वपूर्ण कौशल है जिसका लक्ष्य पूर्ति के साथ सकारात्मक रिश्ता है – इसके अलावा हमारा उत्साह तथा धैर्य ऐसे दो घटक है जिनका हमारी शारीरिक तथा मनोवैज्ञानिक स्थिति पर हमारी कार्यक्षमता तथा रिश्तों पर सकारात्मक प्रभाव पड़ता है ।

धीरज-धैर्य इस कौशल के व्यवहार में

व्यक्ति यह करने में सक्षम हो सकेगा :
• एक ऐसा लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने की कोशिश करना जो हमें भावनात्मक स्तर पर समाधान या आनंद देता है ।
