ASSESSMENTS WORKSHOPS

Life skills are important to empower children and young adults to prepare for their future. They are also an integral part of ensuring their wellbeing. One of the challenges in developing life skills is lack of enough contextualised and focused assessment tools, These tools can help provide useful information to education systems as they devise life skills policies and interventions.

LSC Assessments Consultation Workshops

The LSC Assessment Consultation Workshops were conducted in Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Mizoram with SCERT and DIET officials. During these workshops, LSC’s Assessment partners presented a brief about the robustness of the tool design, analysis of the data collected and the way forward for utilisation of the data as well as the way forward for a full state scale-up.

Assessments Consultation Workshop (Maharashtra)

December 9, 2022

Life Skills Collaborative hosted a one-day Assessments Consultation Workshop in Maharashtra with SCERT and DIET officials on Dec 9th. The workshop discussed key takeaways from the Assessment Tools pilot exercise undertaken with 10,000 students, 250 teachers, and 40 government officials. During the event Assessment partners also underlined the robustness of the tool design and the way forward for utilising the data collected.

Life Skills Collaborative’s Assessments Consultation Workshop with SCERT, DIET, Directorate of School Education, and Samagra Shiksha officials was conducted in Mizoram. The workshop was hosted to discuss the highlights from the Assessment Tools pilot exercise undertaken with 10,000 students, 250 teachers, and 50 govt officials. During the event, Assessment partners will be showcasing the robustness of the tool design, along with an analysis of the data collected.

Assessments Consultation Workshop conducted in Rajasthan on 21st October with RSCERT officials and assessment experts to discuss the work undertaken during the pilot study with 10,000 students, 250 Teachers and 50 Officials. During the workshop Assessment partners briefed the officials about the robustness of the Assessments tool design, the analysis conducted on the data collected, and the way forward for utilisation of the data collected as well as its scalability in the state.

Consultation Workshop conducted in Uttarakhand with SCERT and DIET officials to discuss the work undertaken during the pilot study with 10,000 students, 250 Teachers and 47 Govt Officials. During the workshop Assessment partners presented a brief about the robustness of the tool design, analysis conducted on the data collected and the way forward for utilisation of the data collected as well as the way forward for a full state scale-up. Senior officials appreciated the scale and effort of LSC’s work in creating and plotting the assessments for the pilot.

"There are no standard definitions or parameters to measure life skills currently. There is also a lack of understanding about the application of life skills. LSC as a collective of 18 organizations is building a refined way for us to understand and measure life skills."
