Self-Awareness is the ability to see ourselves clearly and objectively through reflection and introspection. It includes recognition of ourselves, our context, our personal qualities, our strengths and weaknesses, our values and beliefs, likes and dislikes, dreams and aspirations, etc., contributing towards our sense of identity. It is also the ability to recognise the contradiction between our aspirations, abilities and values. It is knowledge of our feelings and emotions and how they influence our decisions and behaviour.

Self-Awareness helps us recognise when we are stressed or under pressure. It allows us to see things from the perspective of others, practice self-control, work creatively and productively, and experience pride in ourselves and our work thus contributing to an overall sense of confidence and optimism.

मनन आणि आत्मपरीक्षण या माध्यमातून स्वतःकडे सुस्पष्टपणे आणि वस्तुनिष्ठतेने पाहण्याची क्षमता म्हणजे स्वजाणीव होय. यात स्वतःला ओळखण्याचा, स्वतःचे संदर्भ, चरित्र, स्वतःच्या सक्षम आणि कमकुवत बाजू, स्वतःची मूल्ये आणि ठाम समजूती, आवडी आणि नावडी, स्वप्ने आणि महत्त्वाकांक्षा इत्यादी ओळखण्याचा, स्वतः योगदान करण्याचा समावेश असतो. जेव्हा आपल्या महत्त्वाकांक्षा, क्षमता आणि मूल्ये यांच्यात परस्परविरोध असतो त्यावेळी त्याची स्वतःला जाणीव होण्याची क्षमता यात असते. स्वजाणीव ही क्षमता आहे आपले भाव आणि भावना ओळखण्याची आणि ते आपल्या निर्णयांना आणि वर्तनाला कशाप्रकारे प्रभावित करतात हे ओळखण्याची.

स्व जागरूकता

स्व जागरूकता एक ऐसी योग्यता है जो अपने आप को स्पष्ट और निष्पक्ष रूप से प्रतिबिंबित करता तथा आत्म अवलोकन के द्वारा देखना सिखाती है। इसमें हमारी स्वयं की पहचान, हमारा चरित्र, हमारी कमजोरिया तथा ताकतें, हमारे मूल्य तथा विश्वास पसंद ना पसंद सपने, इच्छाएँ शामिल है जो हमारी पहचान बनाने में अपना योगदान देती है। यह हमारी इच्छाओं, योग्यताओं और मूल्यों में परस्पर विरोधाभाष को महसूस करने का कौशल है यह  हमारी भावनाओं और संवेगों को पहचानने में उनके हमारे निर्णय तथा व्यवहार पर असर जानने की भी योग्यता है

जब हम तनाव या किसी दबाव तले होते है तो स्व जागरूकता ये जानने के लिए हमें मदद करती है। दूसरों के दृष्टिकोण से बातों को देखना, आत्म नियंत्रण का अभ्यास करने, रचनात्मक, उत्पादक ढंग से काम करने और अपने प्रति और अपने काम के प्रति गर्व महसूस करने और सकारात्मकता और आत्मविश्वासी बने रहने में सहायता प्रदान करते है

स्व जागरूकता इस कौशल के व्यवहार में

व्यक्ति यह करने में सक्षम हो सकेगा :
• अपनी भावनाओं को समझ पाना
• सही रूप में भावनाओं को समझ पाना और वह किस तरह से अपने व्यवहार से जुड़ा है यह महसूस कर पाना।

• स्वयं के ताकत तथा कमजोरियों को पहचान पाना

• मूल्यों तथा विश्वासों को पहचान पाना
• व्यक्तिगत गुण, मूल्य किस तरह विकल्पों तथा सफलताओं को प्रभावित करते है इसका विश्लेषण करना
• व्यक्तिगत क्षमताओं, कौशल के प्रति सकारात्मक रहकर स्वीकारना
• लिंग, परिवार, समुदाय और शाला/कार्यक्षेत्र में संदर्भ निभाए जाने वाले भूमिकाओं को पहचानना
• अपने अधिकार तथा कर्तव्यों को जानना तथा स्वयं के प्रति और समाज के प्रति अपनी जिम्मेदारियों भी जानना

ಸ್ವಯಂ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಕೌಶಲವು ಪರ್ಯಾಲೋಚನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆತ್ಮಾವಲೋಕನದ ಮೂಲಕ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಉದ್ದೇಶಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಅವಲೋಕಿಸುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವುದು, ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶ, ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಗುಣಗಳು, ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ದುರ್ಬಲತೆ, ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ನಂಬಿಕೆ, ಮೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಮತ್ತು ಇಷ್ಟವಿಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದು, ಕನಸು ಮತ್ತು ಆಕಾಂಕ್ಷೆಗಳು, ಜೊತೆಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಆಕಾಂಕ್ಷೆಗಳು, ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳ ನಡುವಿನ ಭಿನ್ನಾಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವುದು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಇವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಲು ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತವೆ, ಇದು ನಮ್ಮ ಭಾವನೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅವು ನಮ್ಮ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ಹಾಗೂ ವರ್ತನೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಪ್ರಭಾವ ಬೀರುವುದೆಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಸಹ ಆಗಿದೆ.

ಸ್ವಯಂ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಕೌಶಲವು ನಾವು ಒತ್ತಡದಲ್ಲಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಲು ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದು ನಮಗೆ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ಇತರರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನದಿಂದ ನೋಡಲು, ಸ್ವಯಂ-ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣವನ್ನು ಅಭ್ಯಾಸಿಸಲು, ಸೃಜನಶೀಲವಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ಪಾದಕ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಮಾಡಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ, ಇದರಿಂದ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಹಾಗೂ ಆಶಾವಾದ ವೃದ್ಧಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯು ಈ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುವುದು:

  • ಅವರ ಭಾವನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗುವ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವುದು.
  • ಅವರವರ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ದೌರ್ಬಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವುದು.
  • ಭಾವನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಖರವಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅವು ವರ್ತನೆಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವುದು
  • ವಿಚಾರಗಳು ನಿರ್ಣಯಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಮತ್ತು ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯುತ ವರ್ತನೆಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೀರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದು.
  • ಅವರು ಬಯಸುವ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಕೌಶಲ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಸಕ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು.
  • ಅವರ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವುದು.
  • ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಗುಣಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳು ಹೇಗೆ ಪ್ರಭಾವ ಬೀರುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಿಸುವುದು.
  • ತಮ್ಮ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಕೌಶಲದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ  ಆಶಾಭಾವನೆ ಹೊಂದಿ ಜಾಗೃತವಾಗಿರುವುದು.
  • ವಯಸ್ಸು, ಲಿಂಗ, ಕುಟುಂಬ, ಸಮುದಾಯ ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಲೆ / ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ರೀತಿಯ ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವುದು, ಮತ್ತು ಅವು ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಯಾವ ರೀತಿ ಪ್ರಭಾವ ಬೀರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುವುದು.
  • ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಹಕ್ಕು ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ತವ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವುದು ಹಾಗೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು  ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಿಯುವುದು.
