Curiosity is the ability to apply a sense of wonder and desire to learn or know something, without expecting a tangible reward. It is also about recognising an information gap and having an intrinsically motivated desire to close it. It includes seeking out information to better understand a wide range of topics and/or obtaining a depth of understanding in one topic area that goes beyond what is required.

Curiosity as a skill can positively affect learning and memory; lead to greater levels of attention and skill development and enhance feelings of mastery.

जिज्ञासा म्हणजे अशी क्षमता की जीमध्ये कोणत्याही लाभाची अपेक्षा न करता कुतूहल, नवीन काहीतरी जाणून घेण्याची किंवा शिकण्याची तीव्र इच्छा असणे अंतर्भूत असते. माहितीतील अपूर्णता ओळखून ती पूर्ण करण्याची आंतरिक प्रेरणा असणे हीसुद्धा जिज्ञासाच आहे. यात विविध विषयांचे योग्य तऱ्हेने आकलन होण्यासाठी आवश्यक माहितीचा शोध घेण्याचा समावेश असतो किंबहूना त्याही पलीकडे जाऊन एका विशिष्ट क्षेत्रातील घटकाचे सखोल आकलन करणे अपेक्षित आहे.

बिना किसी अपेक्षा (पुरस्कार कुछ पाने के भाव) के व्यक्ति को नया सीखने और जानने के लिए प्रेरित करती है किसी भी जानकारी के सही या गलत होने के अंतर को पहचानने में और आत्म प्रेरणा से गलत तथ्यों को नकारने मे मदद करती है। इसमें विविध विषयों को जानने के लिए सूचना / जानकारी प्राप्त करना, उन्हें गहनता / गहराई से समझना शामिल है जिज्ञासा एक कौशल के रूप में व्यक्ति के सीखने एवं स्मरण शक्ति को प्रभावित करती है, और ध्यान चिंतन / अवधान, कौशल विकास और खुद पर विश्वास रखने की ओर अग्रसर करती है

ಕುತೂಹಲವು ಯಾವುದೇ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವನ್ನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸದೇ, ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯ ಪಡುವ ಮತ್ತು ಏನಾದರೂ ಕಲಿಯುವ ಇಚ್ಛೆಯಿಂದ ಅಥವಾ ತಿಳಿಯುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಅನ್ವಯಿಸುವ ಕೌಶಲವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಅಂತರವನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂತರ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಸ್ವಯಂ ಪ್ರೇರಿತವಾಗುವುದನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವ ಮತ್ತು / ಅಥವಾ ಯಾವುದೇ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.

  • ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯ ಗುಂಪುಗಳ ಭಾಗವಾಗಲು ಆಸಕ್ತಿ ತೋರುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಆನಂದಿಸುವುದು 
  • ಇತರರಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದು ಆಸಕ್ತಿಕರ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಯಲು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವುದು

  • ತಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ತಿಳಿಯಲು / ಕಲಿಯಲು ಓದುವುದು, ಅಲ್ಲದೇ ಆ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಇತರರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನಗಳನ್ನು ಸಹ ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುವುದು 
  • ಹೊಸ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯುವ, ಉತ್ತರಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಸಾಧಿಸುವ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಒಲವು ತೋರಿಸುವುದು 
  • ಆಳವಾದ ಚಿಂತನೆ ಅವಶ್ಯಕವಾಗಿರುವ ಕಡೆ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವುದು
